InForum: Stampede suit up for outdoor games in weekend takeover of The Lights

The Stampede laced up their skates for a weekend of West Fargo youth hockey at The Lights.

The outdoor rink at The Lights on Sheyenne 32 plaza has gotten plenty of use since it opened a little over two weeks ago.

West Fargo youth hockey players helped break in the sheet of ice last weekend for a three-day recognition event. The youth series was held to celebrate Bantams who will soon age out of West Fargo Hockey Association.

It did just that.

On top of suiting up for a couple outdoor games under some stadium lights Jan. 1-3, the hockey association commemorated its graduating players with a video on the plaza’s big-screen display to kick off the weekend of West Fargo Stampede hockey.

Six teams, all Bantam level, competed in a game each night. The Stampede Bantam A and AA boys played the final weekend takeover game at The Lights on Sunday, Jan 3.
