WEST FARGO — Epic Events, an offshoot of Epic Companies that has developed a large portion of Sheyenne Street, is now dipping into the art world, hosting its first Art Show at the Lights on Sheyenne Oct. 29.

McKenzy Olson, Epic vice president of marketing, said Epic Events plans to host the free and open to the public art show at one of its newest properties, The Echo, one of the the mixed-used buildings at the corner of Sheyenne Street and 32nd Avenue.

“Something Epic Events likes to do is support arts and entertainment,” Olson said. “We also want to support the local artists.”

Olson said the art show will include West Fargo and regional artists who have submitted a variety of mediums for the show from sculptures and installations to paintings.

The show has already attracted about 100 submissions from more than 50 artists. Although the submission deadline was Oct. 1, Olson said Epic Events is open to allowing additional submissions for the show.

“It’s thee first time we’ve done it, so we don’t really know what to expect,” Olson said.

The art show will be held on the second floor of The Echo building, which is the second of four mixed-use buildings planned for the district. The Echo’s main tenant, Bell Bank, is expected to open earlier that week in its new location.

Bell Bank and Epic Companies have also partnered to rebuild the bank’s current location on north Sheyenne, which was slated to begin later this year.

The free event will be open from 7 to 9 p.m.; tickets and registration are not required.
